From The Runways - Winter 2011 - With Lisa Robertson

Right girls, this season's all about very strong looks with a slight touch of femininity. Sleek and smooth hair seems to be all the go, however, slightly undone and makeup "WOW", strikingly bold yet glowingly flawless.

Makeup

Give yourself a fresh faced feminine look; flawless natural skin is a must (Check out Donna Karans Autumn/winter 11/12, 60s muse). Grab yourself a good primer that creates a barrier between your skin and the foundation and which allows the foundation to go on smoothly. This will give you that flawless almost mannequin look you see on the runways and desire.

Go crazy with your lip colour, this season's colours range from nudes and cool soft pinks to deep chocolates, black cherries and dark reds. Have an "anything goes" attitude, wear what your feel, add a 50's flare with ruby red lips and sexy cat eyeliner flicks or a golden goddess with shimmering cheeks and jewel like lips. Customize your lip by mixing 2 or 3 shades together.

When it comes to eyebrows who better to look at and be inspired by than 80's Model/Actress Brooke Shields. With an eye brow pencil create natural soft flicks through your eyebrows and go for more square defined brow which will add a runway sexy boyish look to your style.

Hair

Hair is back to looking done but not looking like you’ve made too much effort. A quick and easy style is a slick tight pony tail that starts from the crown as seen on marc Jacob's autumn/winter 11/12 runway collection. Remember to wrap a piece of hair around the band to hide it.

Go for a black swan ballet inspired look with a soft bun following the shape of the head, still sleek in to a pony tail but a fuller bun with soft wisps escaping adding a soft feminine look.

Centre parts are also making it big on the runways. Try a centre part with a smooth low pony tail, with its length slightly undone that looks tangled and soft, for that casual Sunday lunch look. Your hair is part of your unique style so add accessories to spice it up.
